See you May 15!
Henry Ford opened a commissary in Detroit, Michigan, for Ford employees only. When he offered the five dollar a day wage, local merchants raised their prices. He was so upset he opened a store that sold food, clothes, tools, etc. at much lower prices than other stores.
(Sounds a lot like Sam Walton)
Some argue that Mr. Ford may have had the first supermarket in the United States.
Thanks for sharing David Risher.
Ford is proactively announcing a customer satisfaction program to update the software of the regenerative brake system of some 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrids.
From Ford Motor Company…
Dearborn, Mich., Feb. 4, 2010 – Today, we are announcing a customer satisfaction program to update the software of the regenerative brake system of some 2010-model Ford Fusion Hybrids.
We have received reports that some drivers have experienced a different brake feel when the hybrid’s unique regenerative brakes switch to conventional hydraulic braking. While the vehicles maintain full braking capability, customers may initially perceive the condition as loss of brakes.
To be clear, the Fusion Hybrids’ brake system maintains full conventional brakes and full ABS function even as the customer sees visual indicators and hears a chime. The software threshold to transition from regenerative brakes to conventional brakes can cause the system to transition to conventional brakes unnecessarily.
The software upgrade will reduce unnecessary occurrences of the vehicle switching from regenerative braking to conventional hydraulic brakes.
Customers with affected vehicles will receive a notice in the mail. We are asking owners of affected vehicles to have vehicle software reprogrammed at dealers at no charge.
There have been no injuries related to this condition.
Beechmont Ford is excited to announce an incremental cash & incentive enhancement effective today, January 28, 2010.

Week two of sales training on the new F150 Raptor in Cincinnati at Beechmont Ford.
Beechmont Ford customers and all Ford owners, THANK YOU! 2009 started involved a tremendous amount of uncertainty, apprehension and fear. Should we take bail out money? Should we not? Stock prices plummeted and unemployment rose. Consumer confidence lessened each and every day with more and more stories of bankruptcy and corruption. Standing strong in times of hardship, believing in our customers and believing in the quality of the Ford brand kept us moving forward.
Some highlights of 2009 included:
Most importantly, we would like to thank our customers for helping us finish 71st in the nation for new retail Ford vehicle sales. Beechmont Ford could not have been as successful for the past 15 years without your continued support. You supported us for many years in the past, during the economic challenges of 2009 and we look forward to serving you during the rebound of 2010.
2010 brings high hopes and optimism. The equity Ford holds in its name is the highest of all domestic brands. Consumer interest and customer loyalty keeps climbing.
Thank you… Thank you… Thank you.

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act permits taxpayers to take a deduction for state and local sales and excise taxes paid on the purchase of new cars, light trucks, motor homes and motorcycles. The deduction is available on new vehicles purchased from Feb. 17, 2009, through Dec. 31, 2009. In states that don’t have a sales tax, the law provides a deduction for other taxes or fees paid. This deduction is available whether or not a taxpayer itemizes deductions on Schedule A.
The deduction is limited to the taxes and fees paid on up to $49,500 of the purchase price of an eligible vehicle. The deduction is reduced for joint filers with modified adjusted gross incomes (MAGI) between $250,000 and $260,000 and other taxpayers with MAGI between $125,000 and $135,000. Taxpayers with higher incomes do not qualify.
Do not miss this wonderful opportunity. Go to Beechmontford.com to view our inventory.
Go to IRS.gov for more information regarding the deductions.

Letter to Alan Mulally…
I recently purchased a 2009 Ford F-150 and I am writing you this email to praise the safety features of that vehicle that saved my life. I was recently at the Texas State Fair and was looking at the new Ford vehicles because we will soon be in the market for my wife a new SUV, and I told one of the representatives my story. They told me that I should send the pictures in to someone at Ford. I did a google search for contact info at Ford, and I am taking a guess at your email address from your name.
On May 9th, I was driving on south Interstate 45 from Dallas to Houston at 5 in the morning. It was pitch black outside and as I came over a small hill in the road, there were 6 cattle standing across the freeway. I was traveling 65-70 miles an hour and I did not have time to react and swerve away from the cows. I hit and killed 3 of the cows. I don’t remember much of the wreck, but I do remember that I walked away from it. Once the police arrived on the scene, the were sure that anyone in the vehicle was surely dead. As every new officer and helping passer by came upon us, I was asked if I had checked on the people in the vehicle. They were surprised every time that I told them that I was the only one in the vehicle. They would ask how I was even standing after the wreck. I firmly believe that God put me in an F-150 exactly one week before the accident for a reason. The truck was totaled, and looking at the damage, I can see how anyone would not believe that I walked away from the accident. I had a twisted vertebrae, dislocated ribs, a concussion, and some burns from the airbag. All of that is fixable, and the one thing that I also have is my life. If I would have been in my previous vehicle, they said I would have been decapitated. On my F-150, the hood rolled back over the windshield and shielded anything from coming through it. The frame kept the cockpit in tact and overall, this truck truly performed the safety features to the max. No-one ever thinks of hitting 3 900 lb cows when they think of auto accidents, but your engineers and designers have put features into this truck that will save hundreds of lives, and I am sure glad they saved mine. My wife were married in March and this accident happened only 2 months after our wedding. Now we are expecting our first child, and I will only trust Ford vehicles with my wife and family in the future. I have attached a picture of the truck and I will say, the sales staff was fantastic in assisting me with getting a new 2009 F-150.
Thank You So Much,
Joe Cross
