Sales Testimonial: Christine McGeorge

Dick Barrick was our sales consultant and I can’t begin to convey how wonderful both my husband and I felt about our experience with him.  I have purchased approximately 6 new vehicles from various dealerships, Beechmont Ford, Jeff Wyler, Walt Sweeney and our experience with Dick at Beechmont is hands down over any other.  They just don’t make salesman like Dick anymore!  We purchased a vehicle at Beechmont Ford about 10 years ago and came back there several months ago but just didn’t get the level of service and ultimately did not buy a vehicle.  We decided to give Beechmont another chance as my husband still felt a loyalty to them and we lucked out getting Dick as our salesman.  Those young guys sitting around the desks chit-chatting about their plans for the evening or weekend should take some pointers from Dick.  Not only did we buy the Ford F-150 but a week later we came back and purchased a 2010 Ford Fusion Sport!  I have shared my experience with everyone I know!!!  I must also give some kudos to Janet Mastruserio!  What a remarkable lady!  We both appreciated the time she took to explain every detail to us so we knew what we were agreeing to.  Unfortunately, due to some past debt that we’ve been working on but still dragging our score down.  Janet gave us some pointers to help our score going forward and I have complete confidence she fought hard to get us the most competitive rates she could under the circumstances.  I understand Janet is retiring and really hope that Beechmont Ford finds a way to keep her on a part-time basis and she is a gem!  These are just a few remarks about why we feel strongly about the positive experience we received from Beechmont Ford and I assure you with service like that we will certainly be back!  For now, I’m all over my new Fusion Sport!!!

Unique ‘K-Bag’ helps F-150 outperform competition in crash tests

The all-new 2009 Ford F-150 which features an exclusive air bag technology provides better side-impact crash safety than the Chevrolet Silverado, Dodge Ram and Nissan Titan, according to a new study by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

The F-150 earned an IIHS “Top Safety Pick” last November and quadruple 5-star government crash test ratings in January making it the only full-size pickup to achieve both top crash-test ratings. Combined with the most standard safety features in the segment, the F-150 is America’s safest full-size pickup.

2009 Ford F-150 Safety and Security - Part 3

Part three of a three part series on the safety and security of the new 2009 Ford F-150.

Part Three highlights the Braking System features.  Part Two highlighted the AdvanceTrac with RSC Components.  Part One highlighted the AdvanceTrac RSC.

Braking System Features

  • Four channel ABS allows for maximum steering control under hard-braking conditions where lockup may occur
  • Front and rear vented rotors, large twin-piston calipers up front and large single-piston calipers in the rear help improve stopping power and reduce vibration during braking
  • Disc brakes provide enhanced heat dissipation, resistance to brake fade, longer pad life and improved stopping distances
  • Brake Assist recognizes and applies appropriate braking assist when the driver brakes suddenly but without enough force to provide full deceleration
  • Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) automatically balances the front-to-rear brake force distribution to reduce the tendency for rear-wheel lockup and optimize braking performance according to vehicle load of passengers, cargo and/or payload

2009 Ford F-150 Safety and Security - Part 2

Part two of a three part series on the safety and security of the new 2009 Ford F-150.

Part Two highlights the AdvanceTrac with RSC Components.  Part One highlighted the AdvanceTrac RSC.

AdvanceTrac with RSC Components

Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)

  • Allows steering control to be maintained in many hard-braking situations
  • Controls wheel lockup to improve stopping in many situations

All-Speed Traction Control

  • Improves traction and acceleration
  • Helps tires maintain grip, which aids directional control

Yaw Control

  • Controls skidding and fishtailing
  • Reduces the chance of rollover by reducing yaw motion

Vehicle Roll Motion Sensor

  • Monitors vehicle body roll angle and how fast the body is rolling from one side to the other at least 100 times per second
  • Works to counteract excessive roll by instantly and rapidly applying brake force at the appropriate wheels with a high burst of pressure
  • This braking action helps to absorb the roll motion and plant the wheels firmly on the ground
  • Only Roll Stability Control System with a roll-motion sensor

2009 Ford F-150 Safety and Security - Part 1

Part one of a three part series on the safety and security of the new 2009 Ford F-150.

Part One highlights the AdvanceTrac RSC.

AdvanceTrac with RSC (Roll Stability Control)

  • AdvanceTrac is standard on all F-150 models
  • An electronic stability control system that helps the driver maintain vehicle stability in adverse driving situations or when making evasive maneuvers on slippery pavement
  • Components work together to enhance traction and maneuverability by monitoring wheel speeds, the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), acceleration and steering inputs by the driver, and the vehicle rotation around both the vertical yaw and horizontal roll axis
  • Onboard computer monitors the sensors and makes adjustments by applying individual brakes and/or modifying engine power to reduce the potential for lost traction or an unstable vehicle situation
  • Intervenes progressively so that the driver is hardly aware that AdvanceTrac has been activated
  • Greatest benefit is realized when driving on low-traction surfaces or during emergency maneuvers
  • Includes Brake Assist
  • See the Safety section of the Source Book appendices for more information

Roll Stability Control (RSC)

  • RSC is an additional vehicle control software module
  • Builds on the ABS, traction control and yaw control systems of AdvanceTrac
  • By utilizing a vehicle roll motion sensor, RSC helps keep the vehicle tires on the ground by monitoring and controlling roll rate

2009 F-150 Keeps Racking Up Awards

The all new 2009 F-150 was recently named 2009 Detroit Free Press Truck of the Year after already being named the 2009 Detroit News Truck of the Year.

The following comments were part of the article written by Mark Phelan, DFP Columnist:

“Ford has dominated the big pickup market for decades. There’s a bone-deep institutional knowledge within the company about what an F-150 should be that approaches genetic memory. Salmon return to the stream where they were born, Ford builds great pickups; it’s what it does.”

The 2009 F-150 is one of three finalists for Truck of the Year Award.
