Class-Exclusive* Powershift 6-Speed Automatic in the 2011 Ford Fiesta

The 2011 Ford Fiesta comes equipped with The PowerShift 6-speed automatic engine.  It is like having two manual transmissions in one computer-controlled package.  Shifting is accomplished by engaging one clutch while the other disengages to go between the two sets of gears.

· Twin internal clutches (no toque converter) keep the gears in constant mesh

· Dry clutch design does not require power-robbing fluid which saves weight and improves fuel efficiency

· Clutches disengage when at a stop (neutral idle) to help improve fuel economy

· Class-exclusive* Hill Assist Feature helps prevent rolling back on steep hill when you start from a stop

This engine is a “game-changer” that provides the responsive performance of a manual combined with automatic convenience and better fuel efficiency.  It is proven technology that can be found in many-end sports cars such as Porsche, Ferrari and Bugatti
