The Fuel Economy Story of the 2011 Ford Mustang

Mustang customers will appreciate new features that will help achieve more power and better fuel efficiency.  For example, V6 models equipped with the 6-speed automatic are projected to deliver class-leading V6 fuel economy with 19 city/30 highway mpg.  This is an increase of 3 city and 6 highway mpg!

2011 Mustang Performance Package

The new V6 Performance Package of the 2011 Ford Mustang.  Right from the factory, the new performance package will bring enhanced driving features previously only considered for the GT.

In addition to the V6s enhanced suspension, the V6 Performance Package adds these components:

• 3.31:1 rear axle ratio, for quick off-the-line acceleration
• GT suspension components (front springs, front and rear stabilizer bars) for enhanced performance feel and control
• Upgraded front and rear calipers with performance brake pads
• Strut tower brace adds to overall vehicle rigidity
• AdvanceTrac Sport mode is a unique calibration of the AdvanceTrac system, allowing for more spirited driving with AdvanceTrac still enabled
• 19-inch painted aluminum wheels and Pirelli summer compound performance tires grip the road and enhance driver control

America’s Favorite Muscle Car

The 2011 Mustang GT served as the official Pace Car for the NASCAR season-opening race, the Daytona 500. The Mustang GT, powered by the all-new 5.0L V8 engine, officially started the race on February 14, at Daytona International Speedway.

The one-of-a-kind Race Red glass roof coupe featured a special Daytona 500 paint scheme, Ford Racing suspension, strut tower brace and mufflers, unique painted wheels and special interior treatment, including specially branded illuminated sill plates.

Ford will offer 50 Pace Car replicas to the public with graphics, interior treatments and sill plates. In addition, Ford Racing will offer a special post-title, dealer-installed, Pace Car kit-available only on these 50 Pace Car replicas.

Three weeks before the Daytona 500, bidders at the 39^th annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona, were offered a special treat. For the first time, a Pace Car was offered for sale before it actually paced the race. The 2011 Mustang GT Daytona 500 Pace Car was auctioned with help from Ford’s President of the Americas, Mark Fields, and Ford race car drivers, Carl Edwards and Bob Tasca, III. The Mustang Pace Car sold for $310,000. All proceeds over MSRP went to help the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Beechmont Ford customers and all Ford owners, THANK YOU!  2009 started involved a tremendous amount of uncertainty, apprehension and fear.  Should we take bail out money?  Should we not?  Stock prices plummeted and unemployment rose.  Consumer confidence lessened each and every day with more and more stories of bankruptcy and corruption.  Standing strong in times of hardship, believing in our customers and believing in the quality of the Ford brand kept us moving forward.
